Blessed with an exceptional environment, The Landes is a paradise for those looking for 'authentic nature'.
The seaboard with its 106 kilometres of one long continuous beach and the huge forest, (the largest in Europe), combine to create a heady mixture which seems to encourage a softness between life and nature...
With its 'bastides' (fortified towns) at Saint Justin and Labastide d'Armagnac, both prime examples of medieval architecture, 'The Armagnac Landes', a region full of history and traditions, offers itself as a framework for pleasure and enjoyment along the ancient routes towards Santiago de la Compostela.
Here, 'tradition' is a homage to man's fondness for feasting, drinking and good company, to which the gastronomic delights of the local countryside bear witness. Come taste our 'foies gras', our 'magrets'... and our Armagnac.
Armagnac radiates all the character, all the sophistication, and all the integrity of this region for which it is justly considered its ambassador.
And this is also a region of festivities, where the word 'fête' takes on a new meaning. When the time comes, daily life stops for several days as the bands play and 'la fête' takes centre stage. The 'fêtes' of La Madeleine, (Mont de Marsan) in July, and those of Roquefort (August 15th) and Labastide d'Armagnac (last weekend of October) are significant 'events'.
And not far from The Logis de Saint Vincent, you will find venues for a host of sporting and recreational activities: canoeing/kayaking, fishing, rambling in the forest, cycling and cycle-touring, hunting, horse-riding (at Sarbazan, Pouydesseaux or St. Justin), and golf at St. Avit (15 kms away)...
So come have a nice stay, and we'll see you soon at The Logis de Saint Vincent!
